Dog food aggression, or Canine Possession Aggression,is one of the more serious dog behavior problems and needs to be dealt with quickly once your dog shows the signs. Basically, your dog is trying to assert it's status as the alpha dog, and you just can't let this happen.
It doesn't make sense that your dog would consider you a threat, but you are not only threatening his food, but his alpha dog status. If your dog is growling, snarling, barking, nipping at you, or anything else that can be considered aggressive behavior, you are going to have to get a handle on it rightnow.
It seems really cute when your new puppy is growling over a toy or her food, but this could be the start of Canine Possession Aggression, and could lead to a case of dog food aggression.

Are you the kind of person who stands in awe at parties and family reunions, watching other's people pets sit and heel when there are told to do so? If you answered yes, then it wouldn't hurt to spend some quality training time with your dog. The most influential stage in a dog's development are the first years that he spends as a puppy. This is the best time, if any, to train your dog. As your dog ages he will grow accustomed to his lazy ways and become very stubborn. He will be less receptive and inclined not to listen or accept any “new” ways of doing things. Furthermore, keep in mind that in order to figure out the real age of your dog you must use the seven principle. Take your dogs age and multiply it by seven to get the human equivalent. Hence a dog that is five years old, in human terms he is really thirty five. A thirty five year old is far less likely to listen to anyone than a five year old.

Many of us like to have dogs around. They make great pets and good friends but house breaking them can be a pain. Not to mention training them to sit, fetch, roll over, and play dead. Teaching them to do this can be easy or hard, surprisingly it depends more on the person than the dog.
Many people are under the impression that some dogs can't be trained, or are evil because they are aggressive. This is not true. No dog is evil. Animals have no concept of good or evil and therefore are neither one. However they do have memories and if they have had any past traumas then that will affect them. If you adopt a dog that has had past traumas inflicted upon it then you may be in for a rough ride.

I bet you thought I meant Poo as in Poodle in reality I meant Poo as in Poop!
A friend recently went camping in a rather rural area and, as most of us dog lovers do she took her Chihuahua with her. When she returned home her Chi suddenly got sick and she took him to the vet.
Not knowing the exact cause of her Chihuahuas illness the vet gave him an antibotic shot along with other medications for his upset stomach". Because of the area they camped in there may have been bear poo present and her sweet little Chihuahua decided to feast on it.

What are the different types of dog aggression?
Dogs can possess many different types of aggression, but this article will focus on the main two types. It is important to recognize which type your dog has, since they come from different causes and thus have different methods of treatment.
1. Aggression directed at strangers
What is it?
This type is fairly simple to recognize. Your dog may act nervous around strangers or new people in the house. Your dog may also be on constant alert, meaning they can't lie quietly, pace around or bark or whine at the smallest sound. On the other hand your dog may be the other extreme and remains completely still, not moving at all, and starring intently at the person they feel aggression for.
